Adams' paid for a full repaint into 1965 livery with period adverts. The Northampton crests on the side were rescued from Northampton Transport before they were put in a skip. My family and I were on Holiday at Blair Atholl, which was a handy base, being on the Highland Main Line. Some early morning rides on my Dad's motorbike were needed to get to places like Tulloch, on the West Highland Line. Later, my Dad and I stayed in B&Bs at John O'Groats and Kyle of Lochalsh, I travelled by train, he by motorbike. It was a fantastic fortnight, with the vast majority of trains being loco-hauled.
