| In the late 1980s and early 1990s, I made several trips to Marple, a pleasant Cheshire market town. From a railway perspective, Marple is a fascinating place, with two stations (one on the Hope Valley Line), a large limestone viaduct and a tunnel. At the time of my visits, local services were provided by class 101, 104, 114 and 150 DMUs. |
