29th Oct 2006North Warwickshire Line 1989 and 1993
I've always liked this line and have visited many times over the years. It used to be quite old fashioned, with plenty of GWR features, despite the LM region signals.
14th Oct 2006Railways in Marple (Cheshire)
In the late 1980s and early 1990s, I made several trips to Marple, a pleasant Cheshire market town. From a railway perspective, Marple is a fascinating place, with two stations (one on the Hope Valley Line), a large limestone viaduct and a tunnel. At the time of my visits, local services were provided by class 101, 104, 114 and 150 DMUs.
9th Oct 2006Chiltern Railways Class 121 DMU
A dawn raid to see the infamous Chiltern 'bubble car' class 121 in operation on the Aylesbury to Princes Risborough shuttle service.
15th Jul 2006Nene Valley Railway
A visit to the Nene Valley Railway, to photograph the resident class 40, D306. This was in action along with BR 'Standard' class 5 steam loco 73050 'City Of Peterborough'. Track problems meant that I didn't get to ride behind the '40', as I had time restrictions on the day.
24th Jun 2006London Underground 24-06-06
A flying visit to Kennington, Borough and Elephant and Castle stations. Compare these pictures with some of those in my Northern Line, pre-modernisation gallery.
5th Jun 2006East London Line and some other places
A visit to the East London Line to say goodbye to Shoreditch, followed by a trip on the Victoria LIne, GN & City Line, DLR and District Line.
11th Apr 2006Northampton Corporation Transport no.246
To celebrate 100 years of Adams bakery in Northampton, 246 was sponsored by them. Adams' paid for a full repaint into 1965 livery with period adverts. The Northampton crests on the side were rescued from Northampton Transport before they were put in a skip. Thanks to 246's owner, Mike Edmunds, for an enjoyable run around Northampton.
7th Mar 2006Northampton Transport, Red Bus Era.
A selection of photos from when Northampton Transport buses were red, before it was sold off to pay for a third-rate football ground, for our third-rate team! Mainly pics of Bristol VRs and Volvo Citybuses.
5th Mar 2006Lisbon Trams
I made several trips to Lisbon in the early 1990s to photograph the trams before large amounts of EU cash removed the character. The oldest trams in all-day service were the 1913 bogie trams with clerestory roofs on route 15.
14th Feb 2006Morden Depot Open Day, 1990
As part of the 'Tube Centenary', in 1990, London Underground held an open day at Morden Depot. The LT Museum's 1938 stock provided a shuttle from Morden Station to the depot.
11th Feb 2006Leyland Atlantean Buses
A totally random selection of Leyland Atlantean pictures. I will add to this gallery in the future, as I have a great many Atlantean pictures in my collection.
7th Feb 2006Preserved Class 306 EMU. May 1990
In May 1990, the preserved class 306 was used for one Sunday between Northampton and Rugby. These are some views of it (and some other trains also seen) at Long Buckby and Rugby.

Some sunny views of Plymouth, Gunnislake branch, Liskeard and the Looe branch.
3rd Feb 2006Paddington, June 5th, 1993
A few views of Paddington station, without any wires and definately no sign of Barbie!
1st Feb 2006West Midlands Buses
A freezing cold day, spent riding on and photographing interesting buses around Walsall, Wolverhampton and Sutton Coldfield.
19th Dec 2005Freedom of Scotland, May / June 1988
In 1988, I was bought a Freedom of Scotland rail rover for my 15th birthday. My family and I were on Holiday at Blair Atholl, which was a handy base, being on the Highland Main Line. Some early morning rides on my Dad's motorbike were needed to get to places like Tulloch, on the West Highland Line. Later, my Dad and I stayed in B&Bs at John O'Groats and Kyle of Lochalsh, I travelled by train, he by motorbike. It was a fantastic fortnight, with the vast majority of trains being loco-hauled.

Please note that some of the slides have deteriorated due to poor storage, sorry.
17th Dec 2005Romford to Upminster
A few views of Romford, Emerson Park and Upminster, with no plastic trains in sight!
